Meals On Wheels

This is our signature service project. For the past 37 years, our Lions Club along with the Marietta Lions Club takes over the Meals On Wheels program in Cobb County on CHRISTMAS DAY. We work with Cobb Senior Services to identify the seniors who would be alone on that special day and committed to delivering a meal to them. We purchase the food, prepare it, and serve it on Christmas morning, then make our deliveries. We have fed as many as 152 seniors and their families as well. We have been blessed to have a large number of volunteers find us on the East Cobb Patch, in the East Cobb Neighbor, and on Facebook and join us to deliver Holiday Greetings along with the meal.

We used the kitchen and fellowship hall at East Cobb UMC which is located at 2325 Roswell Rd Marietta 30062. Our volunteers arrived at 10 AM. For more information, contact us.

This Christmas (2019) we served over 250 meals at different locations throughout Cobb County. Many seniors relied on us to provide a holiday meal for their guests. The fellowship hall at East Cobb UMC was full of Christmas Elves, busily coloring the fruit bags, making greeting cards, and listening to holiday music. Santa wasn’t be able to make his annual visit, he was pretty tired after a long nights work and took a well deserved day off. Thanks to everyone who participated and made this a very special event!

Our 2018 event even made the Lions Blog which is read all over the world. Read Blog
